James Young has worked in nine different countries and has over 30 years knowledge of the industry. His most recent role was as Director of Operations, Luxury and Lifestyle, Australasia and Pacific, for IHG, operating from Sydney, Australia. Prior to this, he was based in Ho Chi Minh City, where his role included overseeing the operations of The Reverie Saigon, Vietnam's only member of Leading Hotels of the World. He was also Area General Manager Indochina and General Manager of the award-winning InterContinental Asiana Saigon and spent a number of years as a General Manager in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. 

Renowned for his empathetic approach, ability to connect at all levels and worldwide network, he now focuses on helping others to grow their business and/or themselves. Comfortable at all levels of an organisation, he is an expert on cross-cultural working relationships and emerging markets, especially Vietnam.

He is a communicator, an enabler and is known for his grace, humour and style - attributes that are crucial to developing business and relationships - both in established and emerging markets. He holds an MBA with distinction from the University of Bradford School of Management, and a B.Sc. (Hons) in International Hospitality and Tourism with First Class Honours from Sheffield Hallam University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and a past President of the International Wine and Food Society, Saigon chapter.
